Keep Archipelago Tidy organization celebrates its 50 years of active operations towards cleaner waters in the Finnish archipelago and lakes. Alfons Håkans and FC Inter gave their birthday present in form of a jubilee game at Veritas Stadion in August. Veikkausliiga team FC Inter played their Helsinki rivals HIFK in custom made uniforms as the iconic Håkans logo was replaced by Keep Archipelago Tidy branding.
While the traditional FC Inter black & blue jerseys were given a historical new look, also the event was strongly influenced by the celebrations of Keep Archipelago Tidy. General Secretary Aija Kaski hosted an 8-strong VIP delegation at the game and she received the official birthday wishes from AH-CEO Joakim Håkans and game host Stadium, who delivered the one-off jerseys to the game. Hundred free tickets were handed out to the friends of archipelago while the birthday organization enjoyed a strong visibility on the stadium’s screens and announcements.
The national media also noticed the exceptional game uniforms and the good cause behind the gesture. Keep Archipelago Tidy arranges their official birthday party at Åbo Båtvarv’s spacious Lindblom Hall in October. According to Kaski the venue serves the purpose perfectly:
– It is not only a well-functioning event venue but the environment also represents perfectly the 50-year-old organization’s values and philosophy.
Alfons Håkans congratulates Keep Archipelago Tidy!
